proper client, for the right amount of money,” he says.
Sometimes, as in the case with Terri and Buzz Binder, meeting several times in the course of a month to understand a particular clients needs is sufficient to design a home. Other times, it may take eight to 10 months to get to a level of understanding. Usually, Heinemann spends more time up front in the design and planning stage than in actual construction.
Austin and Augusta enjoys its reputation as the local experts in prairie style homes. “That type of architecture makes a subtle statement,” Heinemann says. “The house opens up as you enter into it. It seems to appear to those who are less interested in grandeur than function.”
Frank Lloyd Wright once said, “The good building is one that does not hurt the landscape, but one that makes the landscape more beautiful than it was before the building was built.”
Heinemann homes do that. Their timeless design allows the high desert of the Colorado Plataue to claim the grandeur, while they subtly stake their claim to belong and enhance the rugged landscape.
The Binders couldn't agree more.
